Racing
Racing at Noosa Yacht & Rowing Club
The Noosa Yacht and Rowing Club boasts a strong, varied and competitive sailing division that welcomes sailors of all levels. The local conditions on the Noosa River are perfectly suited to trailer sailer style designs, and our senior competitive activities are heavily represented by this class of boat, especially our substantial fleet of very competitive Blazer 23 class yachts along with Hartley, Farr and RL24 designs.
Club Racing
Main club competitions are conducted in a windward-leeward pursuit format every second Saturday afternoon from 1 pm.
There is also a Winter Series conducted every three or four weeks during the colder months.
Weekly Sailing
The club has a committed group of sailors who love to race on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday afternoons.
WAGS (Wednesday Afternoons Go Sailing)
Saturday afternoon races, conducted fortnightly in a windward-leeward pursuit format
Major Events
Members also compete annually in major Queensland premier events, including: Noosa Gaff Rig Regatta Bay to Bay, Surf to City, Pearl Challenge, Sail Mooloolaba and St Helena Cup.
These events take place between September and May each year.
The Noosa Yacht & Rowing Club have a committed group of sailors who love to race on the above days!
It’s social, but it can get competitive, racing to win! Watch from the comfort of the Club or experienced sailors may have the opportunity to join us as a crew member. Saturday afternoons are when the Club’s main competitions occur in a windward-leeward pursuit format.
